Marimo mass ball?

Hi!

I have a huge fresh water container for my hermies. Would it be safe to put a marimo moss ball in it? I already have a water filter.

From what I have read, they seem safe for other pets!

I have heard of crabbers using them. They would be great in a large cycled pool. I bet the crabbies tear em up, though!
