Frog moss.

I read somewhere that frog moss (also known as pillow moss) is great in a crab tat. So I have some moss pits with it. However the moss is totally dying... I keep it very moist but maybe it's getting too much light? Heat? Not sure if it's savable or I should get another kind...

I use frog moss and it works great. Do you spray it or dip it in water?

I spray it at least 2x a day. However it's is right up against my UTH... Could that be too high a heat for it? It's never dry but it is very warm...

I'm not sure exactly what kind of moss you have, but the one I have says to soak it in water and ring it out, it pretty much always stays moist for me. I'm not really sure what UTH stands for, I've seen other people use it, could you tell me what it means? Then I could help you.

It's the under tank heaters. It stays moist but it's very warm... Like maybe too hot for moss?

Honestly, I don't know if moss can get too warm, I have my heaters on the side, if it becomes too hot where you feel it is unsafe, I would recommend moving it.

Growing plants is pretty dependent on the type of light you use. To grow plants, the light must be in the 5700 to 6500 Kelvin range. The majority of people buy plants, not knowing this, place them in the tank, and they slowly die off.

Interesting. Moss I know loves low light- but in a tank, I had read that our lights are not as powerful so I shouldn't worry about too much light- my uth I think is keeping it too warm. The moss has lost all its color. It's very strange. I'm pretty sure it's done for though.
