You'll want the largest that can fit on the back of the tank without any "overhang" as Ultratherms cannot be wrapped around corners.
PPs are Big Enzo, Charles Paris and Mr Pinch
On the Big Beach in the Sky: Murray, Gino, Oscar, Gordon, Ignatz, Harry and King Felix the Pale
Also Mom to Imogene the Syrian Hamster

A 20g Tall is 24x12x16, right? If so, go for the 11x23 Ultratherm. That size will leave you with about 1" of substrate below the pad (assuming 6" deep substrate). You could use a 6x23, allowing for deeper substrate with no overlap; however, it's recommended to opt for the largest unit that will fit the tank. I have an 11x23 on my 29g (30x12x18) with 7" of substrate. This works great as I wanted to have a "cooler" side in the tank to give the crabs a bit of temperature variation and thus have 7" of glass unheated by the pad. You also have to take into account where you live: if it's a cold climate with moderate summers, you'll definitely want the largest pad possible -- I'm in Arizona where cold weather is not a factor so probably could have gotten by with a 6x23 pad. When you order an Ultratherm, do so from ReptileBasics.com: they're on the HCA Shopping page, have the best prices, lowest shipping charges and the product arrives quickly. My total cost for an 11x23 was under $30.

Hope this helps :)

Thank you so much! I have 6-7 inches of sub in my tank. Can't wait to try an ULtratherm, heat lamps and tiny zoo med heating pads have become very annoying. :?
