I'm thinking about adding some moss to the second level of my crabitat. I work next door to Lowes. Would this be safe to use?

Thanks!

Do you know what type of moss it is? (Like sphagnum)

I know this one is safe - it's a little too chunky and dirty for my tastes for the hermits, but I use it with my snakes:

PETsMART has ExoTerra forest moss in a brick. We incorporated it into all 5 tats and for 8 bucks you get a ton of it after it soaks in saltwater and expands. I would suggest airing it out for a couple or three days after expansion. Unless you enjoy the woodsy jungle smell. It's an acquired scent.

If you get really lucky it smells minty fresh! If you're unlucky it smells like horse manure.... No quality control.

Me too. I was put off at first, but love it now.
