My guys love cork round/bark. You can usually find it at PETsMART or Petco. Really, any crabbie safe branches. Fake plants really make a tank look nice, and provide hides and climbing sources. From pet stores, craft stores, WalMart, dollar stores.

Mine seem really taken to larger lava rocks. They paid zero attention to the fake cocohut I put in there once the rocks went in. I replaced it with another, smaller rock. Ones with tunnels / hollows in them make great spots for them to hide in the day.

Bendy terrarium vines seem to be decently popular, too. I took a long one and twisted it into a square shape with legs, and then hung fish net over it to make a free-standing "hammock."

The aquarium decoration style hollow logs, sunken ships, etc stuff are hit and miss, since you have to get ones that are sufficiently rough for them to be interested. Too smooth and they can't get a grip for climbing so they won't care about it.

As @NeatHedgehog said, fish net is a wonderful addition to any size tank: not only do the crabs looooove to climb on it but it looks very cool, too. You can find bags of real used fish net at Michael's and Hobby Lobby for about $6. Another popular item is cocomat: it's sold in rolls at Petco/PetSmart and is great for climbing. Check out the mopani and grapewood branches and lava rock at those pet stores as well.

Just wondering if there are any fake plants to avoid. I bought a couple of them from Petsmart today and they say they are "safe and non-toxic", but they have what I consider a strong plastic smell, even after washing with soap and warm water. They are aquarium plants. Also got some ZooMed terrarium sphagnum moss, which I have yet to put in the crabitat.

I already talked about the plants on this thread but wanted to let you know the zoomed sphagnum moss is safe too. :)

They'll love the moss! I was going to suggest that. :) It's the most used thing in my tank, and it's always filled to capacity with hermis.
