Along with making my crabitat more tropical I was wondering if there are any insects that can live with hermit crabs. I want to make the crabitat a little more lively.

Pill bugs can :D http://hermitcrabassociation.com/phpBB/ ... 26&t=92538
I have some in my tank, they hide a lot in the moss, but I occasionally see mine running around.
Okay, well they aren't technically insects, but hey?

I put a few crickets in there. They seem to be doing fine.

I would be careful of the crickets. I would guess that hermit crab exoskeletons are tough enough to resist them & I can't imagine a crab letting a cricket crawl up into its shell, but crickets are known to give reptiles & amphibians nasty bites if left in the enclosure with them for too long. I"m not sure if they could do anything to a crab, but just wanted to say something.

They also reproduce, fast. If you're not careful you'll end up with more crickets than you want :)

Hm.. I might take them out then. Only one of them were really small, the other 2 seem too big to fit in any of the shells. I'm not too worried about reproducing, I don't think there are any female crickets in there.
