And how do I get rid of/prevent this white fuzz and what is it? Is it harmful to my crabs?

I havent. I just set this tank up last Sunday ):landlubber wrote:Where is it located? Sounds like mold.....have you had mold in your tank before?
That's probably the cause then. I gotta get the right portions downJackolope wrote:Clean out your food dish especially. You shouldn't leave food in there for more than a day. Moisture + food = mold.
Do you leave mold in your tank at all?soilentgringa wrote:Crabs eat molding and rotting food in the wild and they often enjoy food that has been in the tank for a few days or is particularly ripe. Mold isn't harmful but if it bugs you just remove the moldy food.
I don't fuss over it. I remove super moldy food.DarthKrab wrote:Do you leave mold in your tank at all?soilentgringa wrote:Crabs eat molding and rotting food in the wild and they often enjoy food that has been in the tank for a few days or is particularly ripe. Well thank you so much! I'm actually really happy to hear that they enjoy this because I was worried I was going to have to replace EVERYTHING and clean the huge tank again and plus I LOVE giving them everything I possibly can to make them happy.soilentgringa wrote:I don't fuss over it. The white fuzz is mold that's all just replace the food and do a spot clean try to replace the food everyday and should not have that issuebbcraft22 wrote:me to. I accidentally left a piece of broccoli for 2 days and the scary looking white fuzz appeared.

what about fermented fruit or grain? Is there any knowledge of how fermented foods affect crustaceans that you've come across?
