Heating Help Needed! Going on Vacation

Hello!

So Im going on vacation and the house that I live in is pretty old and the outlets arent that trust worthy. I have a zoo med under the tank heater (Its placed above sand) but I wont be able to keep it on for 5 days straight due to fears of a short! What should i do?

Do you normally cycle it off and on? Maybe a timer?
