Hey guys just got some new sand today and added about an inch of sand making my sub now 7 1/ 2 inches. I have tied up the bag of sand wirh a zip tie and placed it in another large pvc bag and tied with another zip tie. Will this be enough to keep bugs and nasty critters out ?

I would think this would be enough. Where would you be storing this bag? I've heard that it's best not to store in a garage (that actively has cars entering/exiting) due to fumes,. Just a warning. Seems like it would keep bugs/animals out, though.
If you are doubtful or see anything, though, rinsing/drying and baking sand is a good way to be sure after a year of storage. Good luck!

I have a large tote for all of my sand. Each bag of used and unused sand is in its original bag and then in a thick trash bag, and placed in the tote. That tote is stored in my classroom closet. It's only been there for a month or so, but when I got some extra sand out the other day, it was all like unopened brand new sand...

You should be fine!

We actually have it in the kitchen closet. We live in an apartment and we dont drive so no car fumes from us. We have seen an ant or two in the bathroom. Small ones so this is why i had the concern but it's sealed really tight i hope no ants will.get in that would be awful.
