Aquired a 65 or 75 gal tank, the verdict is still out on that! I will post everything in here. Any must haves in a tank this size? Foggers, fans, etc? All around ideas/tips?

I'll have one that circulates around my classroom, when I get my 75G up and running. I'll let ya know how it works for me. It's more for my students than for the crabs, but it could be a two-fer!

If I ever get a larger tank I might look into it, although I'll probably wanna make it blended in. I love the natural looking crabitats.

Yes!! Definitely pics please!! I have 5 in fans in both my 20g and 55g tats. I primarily got them to help decrease condensation on the glass and decrease mold by helping air circulate along with bubblers. The inner crab in me also thinks it's a nice little breeze for the hermies and makes them feel like they r on the beach :D One of our hermies, I swear, really enjoyed it any time it turned on, he would stop whatever he was doing and try to be in the way of the breeze!

May I see what they look like? I'm getting kinda curious, and I'm wondering what kind of fan to use if I decide. I like the idea of keeping the air moving in the crabitat.

Most use plastic fans they are about 5 in diameter. Can be purchased at Walmart! I very literally pulled this tank off the side of the road free. It was a foreclosure being cleaned out, there was a billion tanks and cages... This one was the second biggest and the cleanest. It will be a rather large project! A little intimidating!

Do people usually use ones that get plugged into the wall or ones with batteries? I'm about 50/50 right now, it's mainly up to how much space.

It's not necessary, I know a few people here use them, but in the time I've been crabbing, I've not known many to.

It's certainly a matter of opinion, I just don't want new crabbers reading the threads to stress out thinking that you HAVE to have a fan.

Ah yeah, I've seen people talk about certain things like shell shops or moss pits and they think you HAVE to own them.

Here is a pic of our 5 in desk fan - bought it at Walgreens. It's plugged into a timer so it's not on all the time.
