Definitely! Other good stores are Hermie's Kitchen, Alaska Hermit, Crabotanicals, and Claw of the Wild.

Okay, but for real, can you actually train your crabs to accept the treats on the little crab-spoon they sell? Their review section for the treats makes me feel sceptical. The crabs I oversee are so skittish, I can't imagine them doing anything but hiding from a spoon.

I could never see my regular crabs doing it. But my big guy tank (baseball sized adoption) was handled often by his previous owner and often charges the food dish when fresh food is placed.... I think maybe he would. Normal crabs though, i don't think so! All my others would run for the hills!LadyJinglyJones wrote:Okay, but for real, can you actually train your crabs to accept the treats on the little crab-spoon they sell? My marine crab lets me hand feed him. He snatches food from me!
Some people do have crabs that will allow them to hand feed. We have a couple that have let us do it with honey.
But since they are pretty scared of us in general, many duck and cover when we approach the tank.

My guys are pretty comfortable with me, and I've actually hand fed all of them at one point. It was just some honey, and they enjoyed it. I did it to see how they would react and to give them a nice treat. I've done that a few times now. But I've had these guys for 4 and 3 years now (the rest are newer) and they also don't mind me being around the tank and putting food in, etc. So my presence isn't a bother to them. Hand feeding is definitely easier when they like you! Or well, see you as a food source, that is
