New wood

So I'm not too sure if this is the right place to put this post. Feel free to move it!
I got this piece of wood from a local pet store. The guy at the counter said it was driftwood and it was pretty cheap so I figured I'd pick it up. Can anyone identify it or at least if it's safe to use in my crabitat? I just boiled it so it is wet in the photo. Thank you! Image

Great! Thank you :) I put it in, now lets just wait until everyone wakes up. I've had one guy check it out already

Yeah, I agree with CrabMater! I love Mopani wood! Does very well in humid environments and doesn't mold :) I have 2 in my tank!

Yeah... that stuff is great in aquariums because its so rot resistant... just be careful if you decide to cut/drill it for any reason: the density can break drill bits, or cause a saw to jump.

Just make sure to give it a good rinse before adding it! some also like to boil them as well - which is pointless, as it removes the tannins.
