Hello, my daughter (who will be 9 in a couple months) wants to adopt some hermies.
I have not had hermies since I was a child and don't remember much about their care since my mother took care of them. However, we are very good pet-parents and have fostered many dogs and cats over the years. We make sure to have all the appropriate supplies and take good care of our animals. My daughter is reading about all that is needed for the crabs (and I am also doing my own research to make sure what she tells me is accurate).
The crabs would be kept in her room. We have a small dog who could not reach them and one elderly cat who, when younger, might have been able to get up on the table, but could not now. He has never gotten into my daughter's tank of snails she is keeping. The crabs will be well secured.
We do not have any of the supplies yet. We will likely start gathering them, and we are interested in any supplies that come along with crabs moving to their new home.
We could drive up to 2 hours to get the crabs.
Although they will be my daughter's companions, mom and dad will always supervise the operation and purchase the needed supplies.
