I just Diamond Crystal Salt. It has NO additives. It is used in fish tanks according to a few websites I found while looking. On the label it says it is collected from drying pools and all natural. However because I bought it at a grocery store I am told it is not OK to use. I am one who does not believe there is a difference between rock salt and sea salt.

I would use a mix meant for fish, like instant ocean, and there are others. They last forever, and are a good deal for their price. avoid mixes meant for hermies...mostly they are a scheme to make money, and are just a little mix for a lot of money! fish mixes are much better deals. I have never seen this confirmed, but I guess some hermie mixes aren't strong enough either.
making your own salt water without a mix is a risky business, you have to find salt without anti caking agents. and then you have to find out how much salt goes to what gallon. I find myself better off with a trusted brand, then guessing.
