HOW LONG BEFORE CHECKING ON BURIED BUDDIE?

Post by Guest » Wed Apr 19, 2006 6:04 pm

OK, SO RAINBO HAS BEEN UNDER FOR 12 DAYS, I DO NOT KNOW IF HIS "NEST" HAS NOT COLLAPSED? I CAN SEE HIM, SORT OF, FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK.
I DO NOT KNOW IF IT'S A MOLT OR STRESS, BUT IF IT WAS STRESS WOULDN'T HE COME UP FOR FOOD & WATER?

I know it is hard, but 12 days is not very long. They can (and will) be buried longer than that at some time.

How long have you had your crabbies? If they are new, they are de-stressing. If not, then they could be molting or just hanging out down there. Never dig unless you smell a horrible death smell. They will be fine.

12 days is quite short for buried hermies. 4 months is quite a lot. I have just learned to wait a few weeks ago! After digging up a crab a lot. I accidentally dug him up yesterday when planting dandlelions, too. Be patient. Your patience will be rewarded with a nice, stress-free and/or molted hermit! :D
