We are selling our house soon, and to raise the value of the house, we are putting in wood floors where there is carpet, but I can't move my tanks!

#1 They are way heavy!! my 40 bredder weighs over 100lbs, plus the stand, and the 29 is on my desk, also reaaaly heavy!

#2 Everyone is going through their spring molt, even my jumbo pp who hasn't molted with me in like 1yr and 5mos!

any ideas on what/how I could do this? We will have to move them, but i don't know how! I don't want to endanger my crabs by stressing them out with the moving back and forth, and banging, and anything else. I have never moved any of the tanks before, not even cleaning them. I just keep them where they are because I'm not strong enough to move them.

thanks!

Depending on how far you will need to move them, you may get a few people to help out, if there are buried crabs, you can't dig them up indivdually and move, Hmmmmm, I guess I don't know.....Good lUck though :)

Okay, I've been through this. I moved my entire tank intact because I had molters in there. I got a couple of burly guys (my dad and ex husband) and slid a board (sp?) under the tank, in order to carry it, and then I road with it all the way to the new house. Molters weren't even disturbed. It was an hour's drive and temp and humidity hardly fluxuated.

BAB moved recently with a 20 gallon tank, (I guess I'm volenteering you hun) may be she'll respond with how she did it.
