I woke up yesterday to find one of my smaller crabs naked and beat'n up. He is missing his big pincher and seems to be out of sorts. the worse thing is i haven't got a clue what crab it could be. And I certainlly don't see any shell that would fit him. So i gathered up a couple of the spare shells that would fit him, He didn't like any of them, but finally temporary settled on one about 10 times too big. He now just spends the day changing into larger and larger shells, Now he is twitching, has anyone ever had a crab twitch? I fear this may be the start of the end for my John Doe crab! Any suggestions?

Advice:
1) If you have not already put in an ISO tank by himself you need to right away! Otherwise he might be attacked again.

2) Since he has lost his BP claw then you should mush up his food and put if very close to him.

3) After you have done the first two then you should leave him alone because if you touch him he will stress out more and his chances of living greatly decrease.

4) I have never heard of a hermit crab twitcing.

Good luck and take good care of him
