HCA: Hermit Crab Association

i just got a tree hermit crab yesterday and i don't have any thing for it to climb on. what are some things that u find around the house that are safe for him to climb on

If you have some cheesecloth or an unused shower caddy that could work. They usualy sell a lot of stuff at pet stores that should work but try to avoid metal mesh and dyed things. Metal rusts and that's bad for them. How big is your tank? Usually most things work in any size tank but if it's big enough you could make a really nice second or third level. (you could do that with a ten gallon too but I tried and I ran out of room)

Drift wood and cholla are good for them. Make sure ti isnt painted, so they dont eat the wood and get sick.

Sections of laundry baskets. Plastic plants. Terracotta plant pots..those are more to hide in. I will add more if I can think about it.... Oh my son mentioned Lego's.

i have a really small tank and i mean really small i need to buy a new one i got it at beach unlimited

i think i'll go with the legos because its about the only thing i have from the list thanks for all your sugestions

i got it i'll cut a sock to fit the side of the cage and tape it to the cage. will this be a good climbing toy?

yea i don't know how i thought of it, it just came to me. and it works i just seen my crab climb it
