Is it better to use two 25 watt bulbs in the 30 inch ESU Tri light system, or One 40 watt bulb in the ESU bi light 2 system?
Whats the pros and the cons of each?
Thanks!
Whats better, two 25 watt bulbs or 1 45 watt bulb?
Okay... I dunno if I'm really following you here... hehe...
Two 25watts can be 2 different lights and that's nice. You can have a sunglo and a nightglo or sunglo and UVB, etc etc... Two 25watts also equals 50watts which is more then 40watts. How many watts do you need?
One 40 watt bulb would only mean you could have one bulb in at that time... so you could possibly need to rotate night and day bulbs as needed or desired.
There... that's my stab at it... hope it helps!

I have a combo light lid that allows me to use a flourescent light up to 20w and two incandescent lights up to 40w each. All three lights are on separate plugs with on and off switches. I love it. The flourescent (20w sunglo)is my daylight and the two incandescents (15w moonglos) are my night lights. I also use a clip light for the other half of my tank (50gal) with rotating sunglo (100w) and moonglo (75w). Hope that helps.

I guess I should have stated that I use the ESU bi-light system and I think it's the 24in one even. Hehe... I have 1 25 watt sunglo and 1 25 watt nighglo.
The sunglo is on a timer for the day light hours. The nightglo is on all the time.
This keeps my temp at a nice temperature that fluctuates for day and night hours. OH and I have it sitting on top of little blocks on a versa-top glass lid.
Love the above light system!! Works so much better for me then the UTH's. I could not figure out that thing.
