poor crabbies at the pet store

i have been a crab owner for a short while, and i fell in love with my crab the moment she ran around in my hand like a nut when she was released from the cage. im glad that i found an onine community of people that are as crazy about Hermies as i am, although i know people that are more obsessed than me.
i remember telling my friend that i was going up to Cape Cod to get crabs, and that kind of freaked her out, but when i actually came back with a crab, she thought that it was really funny. I ironically named the first crab Herpes (just for the novelty of the name). then i could see that the poor thing was lonely, so i bought another one that's down the street from my work. the poor things there are in such bad shape, so i was more than happy to take one home with me. unfortunately, Cancer (named for my birth sign) died only a few days ago and that got me depressed. i bought another crab for Herpes's sake, and they are sooo cute together. im not sure what im going to name this new one, but its cute and it switches shells constantly. iwas actually thinking of naming it Switch. i was going to name it after a character in my books, but if a anyone has something really original i would appreciate it! thanks, Ann*e

Awww, it sounds like Cancer was a victim of PPS (post purchase stress). Sometimes hermies just can't survive after being captured, shipped, mishandled, and subjugated to poor pet store conditions. I'm sure you made her last days much better than they would have been in the store.

I think Switch is a cute name...we'd love pictures!
