Hermit Crabs seasonal?

At least in Los Angeles petstores, unless your a PetCo or PetSmart, it appears you don't get any hermit crabs until July or so. At least according to three petstores I spoke to.

There's no shortage of PP's at PetCo or PetSmart, but I'm looking at smaller shops to get E's.

Does anybody find that's true elsewhere?

some suppliers dont like to ship crabs/reptiles in colder weather, and so will wait till theres no chance of cool spells.

our turtle supplier is like that

I have noticed that my pet store only shipped Es at my request once and this year in mid spring. I wish they had both species at the same time.
