I was wondering if anyone has used the ZooMed Turtle docks for their crabs to use as a second story, I just ordered them for turtles, but they seem like they would work great for crabs as well. If you have, please let me know if your crabs seemed to like them or not.

The one with the suction cups I have seen pictures of and it looks like a good choice. You can use it as a second level. The one I have only works with water. DH is suppose to try and silicone the shelf in place. It is made for use with water.

I have one and they love it. Here's a pic.

Sorry it's a bit blurry. I put hanging plants all around it & my big buy uses it as a place to hide under. So far no one has managed o knock it down either.

Yes, I have one in my 10 gallon tank that I use, and it works fine. :)

Don't the crabs fall off the dock? I would like to get one but worried they'd fall off.

If ti makes you feel any better (or not?) my crabs commonly scale the lid to their 20 gallon tank and fall all the time, and none of them have ever been harmed. That's what their shell is for, right? :o

Yes, but if there is a sharp piece in their shell, it can puncture an organ, or if they fall of and land on something hard, such as a glass dish, that may also damage organs which may lead to death. As for the turtle dock, it's really not to high to be worried about, crabs in the wild fall from 20 foot trees all the time. A fall from 4 inches onto sand, should, not do harm.
