hi guys i just bought a heater the ones that are for hermies it sticks on the out side of the 10 gal. tank is that a good idea or will it get to dry or hot

I'd pick up a temperature gauge (and humidity as well) before you use it. that way, you can tell when the tanks getting too hot and can unplug the UTH. the temp should stay in the 75-80 range. this is what I do for my tank .
