Pearl, are you eating too much?

Post by Guest » Mon Dec 10, 2007 6:24 pm

One of my lovely hermies, Pearl, just came up from yet another moult. She only moulted recently before then, but most of my hermies seem to be having multiple moults lately. Anyway, she has become a pooping machine! She is the only hermie up at the moment, as my crabs have decided another mass moult is the cool thing to do, but Pearl got in first and already finished hers. But boy, she eats quite a bit and the poop is quite amazing considering it is only coming from her! Does anybody else have a hermie that does this? She is very healthy, and I hope happy too. :)

I had a crab that would just sit in the dish for hours and there would always be giant poops where he was sitting later.

I guess the bright side is you know they are healthy and want to grow

I have a medium - large E, a medium E and a small E and when it was just them in the tank I barely saw any poo in the tank. When I got my two micro rugs, I lifted the little hollow stump decoration that only they can fit into and found a PILE of hermie poop
3 Es: Frederick, Shelby, Sebastian

2 Ruggies: Cooper, Claudia

Yep, the same thing happens with Strawzilla. He sure does eat alot and as soon as I place a dish of fresh fruit and veg(and meat) in the tat, he makes a bee-line for it.
Remember his cocohut nest? Around every second day I'd have to remove his poops. Would be roughly the equivalent of a tablespoon of poop just from Strawzilla.

Oh good, well as long as others experience hermies like this. She is actually my smallest hermie, but seems to poop the most! Here she is:

Wow!! She is gorgeous!

And I have a hermie like that. Jacques is the second smallest hermie I have (now that Stitch has pulled through, he was the smallest before that) and he is both the biggest eater and by far the biggest pooper. Just the other day I was cleaning the tank and called him a little poop machine. ~*blushes*~ I talk to my hermies as if they can understand me... ~*blushes more*~

Lol, I talk to mine like that too. Especially Pearl, because she is very social. :D

I swear, my roomies are going to wind up writing me off as a loonie, and all from my little hermie obsession. ~*blushes*~

ive got one up on you both-i actually sing to the hermies! my mom started doing so first and then i got in on it-she always sang to us when we were little so it seemed normal to sing to my babies.

i miss seeing poop...since ive started with EE i rarely see any. except for one of my crabs used spare shells as a "potty" to dumb into-house trained!

Hahaha, Caroline! That's awesome. I will admit to humming the opening theme to Lilo and Stitch when I saw Stitch surface yesterday. I was just so happy and it's such a cheery tune! lol And oh so befitting. lol
