HCA: Hermit Crab Association

I bought my first E at a flea market this past Sunday and he was the only E they had Is he going to be ok without another E for a little while? I'm going to try and buy another E if I can but I haven't ever seen any at my local mom and pop stores or Petsmarts I almost feel bad getting him now but he was in this tiny shell and too big for the hide out they had too

The E will be fine in the meantime, you will have plenty of time to find or order a species buddy during the time that this E destressing.

should be ok for a while, my E's aren't prejudice they hang out with everyone. But they do like to box with their own kind, it doesn't seem to work as well with the PP's.

I'm in the same boat. I was at a pet store and she was the only E in the tank of PPs. I figured she didn't have a species buddy in there, so moving to my tank with my 2 PPs and great conditions could only be an improvement for her. I'm still searching for a buddy or two. Just remember that there are many factors that go into making a good experience for our crabbies, and we do the best we can as soon as we can.
