What are some signs that a crab isn't doing so well?

Post by HaydenHermie » Mon Jul 16, 2012 6:35 am

Thulian is adjusting well. Too well, almost. He's a bit of a bully to Brink, who's kind of had enough of him. More times than not, if Thulian is around Brink curls up into his shell. This morning I found Thulian and Brink in the moss pit and Brink just looked miserable. He wasn't really curled up, but his head was tucked under with his legs. Thulian was just sitting there, being thulian. I heard some commotion from the tank last night but didn't think of it more as Thulian/Brink climbing around. I was concerned last night because at about 3am the boys got into a fight. I broke it up, and it seems as soon as I break it up they forget it ever happened and are the best of buds.

I just don't know if Brink is okay. =/ It's hard to monitor if a hermit crab is okay when they're not supposed to be very active during the day. >.< So I can' tell what is normal and what is not.

It is very hard to tell with these nocturnal critters if all is well. Unless you pull an all nighter to watch their every move. I kind of keep an eye out when i put in some of their favorite food (like fish). If there are any that don't come running for that they I will keep a closer eye on them.
