Back when I first started crab keeping and joined this forum I was told that using PVC inside a crabitat is deadly and should never be considered. Back then the only "non-deadly" plastic was columns used in wedding cakes.
So, is that still the general consensus? Has anyone had PVC in their tanks for a number of years?
PVC okay to use?

Re: PVC okay to use?
So long as the plastic is food or water safe, it's crab safe.
PVC water pipes are absolutely okay, but from what I'm seeing not all types of PVC are rated for water and food contact. ABS is also safe as that's what fish filters are made from. Sterilite containers are also all food safe, but not all Rubbermaid is.

Thank you this is great info. I'm not sure what brand my water pool are. I might have to toss them and replace if I can't determine the brand...
