What does everyones 55 gallon tank set up look like? I’m getting one soon and was looking for some inspiration and ideas of what to do in it.

I don't have a 55g aquarium, but I can speak about the lids. My personal preference is to use Aqueon glass aquarium lids. They come in all sizes and most pet stores with a fish section carry them.

Image
this is my 55 gal
i made my own lids for my tank
mine has a center brace so i ordered four pieces of plexiglass and taped two of them together to make a lid for each side
you can put a handle on but i didn’t because i constantly flip my lids because they tend to droop down

This is an awesome set up lex, do you have any problems with suction cups failing and dropping the hanging pieces? Never felt like I could trust them lol

i hate to brag but i feel like i am the queen of suction cups
lots of people don’t like them and can’t get them to work but i always get them to work
i usually grab a pretty small bowl and put a little bit of water in it
then i make sure there’s nothing on the suction cups like sand or anything by wiping it off (usually with the bottom of my t shirt lol!)
i stick my finger in the water and just wipe it around the interior of the suction cup
i push it onto the glass with some pressure
and then i kinda pull on it (it shouldn’t come off) and push it back on
i “yank” it like that a couple times and it never fails me!
