Hi!
Today at Petsmart I picked up a 4.5" plastic wheel for the crabs (plan on covering it in mesh). There is one part of it though I'm worried about, the metal stand. Would it be safe to have in the tank? Or should I remove it?
Thanks!

Re: Question about wheel
There isn't much you can do about the metal stand. Eventually it will rust, usually after several months. I believe everyone let's ths rust. I have found attaching the wheel to egg crate helps prevent rust for a few extra months. Attach it so the base is above the wheel. You can also add egg crate or mesh to the base to make a small second level too!
The HCA considers rust to be safe for hermits. I wouldn't start to decorate your crabitat with metal sculptures. I tend to try to keep it to a minimum.

Re: Question about wheel
Mine has been in the tank for a couple of years. Doesn't seem to bother them any.
