Big Tank Build (Work In Progress

Post by Mayo_Girl_1 » Mon Jul 05, 2021 9:41 am

Hi,
I am in the planning stages of building a very big tank for my hermit crabs. I am using second-hand single pane window glass, and I am going to use silicone to seal it. What kind of silicone should use? I know that it should be 100% with no Mold inhibitors, but is there anything else I should know for it?
Thanks!

You hit what you need. The brand doesnt really matter as long as it is 100% with no mold inhibitors. Although, from personal experience, I prefer the GE Advanced Silicon over DAP. I used DAP first and it smelled really bad for a long time. It took about 2 weeks for the smell to dissipate from a very small project. When the GE Advanced Silicone cured the smell was gone within 24 hours.
