Re: Hot glue?
Hot glue is aquarium safe, but it won't hold things in place for long. You can always opt for ge1 100% silicone (no mold resistance!! That stuff is toxic) or dap aquarium adhesive ^^ I go with dap because its a smaller bottle, you dony have yo load it in a caulking gun, and the cure time is much shorter

2 small pp, smeegle (m), shellshock (m); 1 small/medium pp, shelldon (f), 1 medium/large pp, Godzilla (m)
1 dog, bender the min pin. And one betta named Henry. I dont know if its a boy or a girl, its still pretty young.

Be sure you cure the silicone until it no longer smells vinegary. Depending on how much you use and how thickly you apply it, the curing time could be as little as 24 hours or as long as several days.
Re: Hot glue?
What does cure mean? Like, just let it sit out? Sorry, such a novice over here.mool wrote:Be sure you cure the silicone until it no longer smells vinegary. Depending on how much you use and how thickly you apply it, the curing time could be as little as 24 hours or as long as several days.

Yea, just let it sit out. The curing process allows the silicone to settle and harden, in the process it put out some foul stuff. You want to make sure no more chemicals are being let out before adding it to any pets tanksAML wrote:What does cure mean? Like, just let it sit out? Re: Hot glue?
Yes, like panda said, curing just means leaving it to air and dry. It's best to let it dry in an area with plenty of ventilation (ie not a crab tank!). When it quits smelling like vinegar, it's safe t use.

I saw this post and was wondering if this was ok to use?pandaincognito wrote:Hot glue is aquarium safe, but it won't hold things in place for long. Re: Hot glue?
I have never used silicone, but from what I have researched, the 100% silicone you have @jdauby09 should work.

Re: Hot glue?
Hot glue is not toxic, but it falls apart really fast. I made a ladder using sticks and hot glue, and it fell apart in days.
