[quote="nicaha"]and if someone looks uncomfortable and doesn't want to hear about proper hermie care, then they probably don't really care if they die or not. they're probably just buying them as a cute pet for a child and don't care as long as it makes the kid happy for a little while.
This is how ended up with my first crab. My mother-in-law bought one for my daughter when she visited her a few years ago. My daughter came home with a crab in tiny little critter keeper with just some commercial food in it and a wet sponge. Lily, the crab, kept tearing the sponge to pieces and then putting it back together. It was like she was telling me "this wet sponge is stupid". I soon did some research and learned how to care for hermit crabs. Now I have 16 of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately, my sister-in-law didn't learn how to care for the crab her daughter brought home. Instead, she decided to "set the crab free" on the beach at the New Jersey Shore.

Wow, that thing is really cheap, as in low quality. They don't give you nearly as much stuff as a real crabber and his buddies need. I would think that the Super Pet Little Crab Kit is better, because it will make you learn more about hermit crabs after you buy all of the other supplies it doesn't include.
