I was in Tamworth yesterday (central northern NSW) and I saw Eco-Earth and Bed-a-Beast in the petstore's reptile section. Just thought I would let Troppo, Bundy and anyone else from Australia know this, as I have never seen it here before.
They also had these tiny little cocohuts that were dyed (ick) and too small to be of much use, but it's the first time I have seen cocohuts here at all.
My local petstore (Armidale, Northern NSW) is also now stocking coconut fibre climbing backgrounds, and troppo has told me that the petstore in Mackay now has them as well.
It seems that the Australian pet market is now beginning to jump on the hermit-crab merchandise bandwagon.

Luckily,in Mackay pet stores ,they have had compressed ee for a fair while. Excellent molting substrate i have found.
*sigh* Up here it's getting worse with painted shells. I can't find natural shells for sale anywhere, and i have a jumbo crab that is growing out of his, looks like more phonecalls that i have to make.
