HCP care kit worth it?

Post by ksmalls » Tue Jul 14, 2015 7:35 pm

I have been looking into getting hermit crabs for a while now, and I'm hoping to get some opinions about the Hermit Crab Patch's care kit. It seems to have everything I'll need to get started aside from a tank, substrate and a heater. I think the supplements and treats seem to be 'extras' since they can eat so much of what I already buy, but with the discount for the kit I'd only save $3 if I bought it all separate and not have any of those extras... Is there anything it's missing? Anything you guys think aren't needed? Or do you recommend a different place to get the basics?

Here's the link: http://www.hermitcrabpatch.com/Hermit-C ... /kit02.htm
Thanks!

I love the HCP and I got a kit like that when I started, but if you have nutritious, high energy foods already, you don't really need it.

Unless you have really small crabs, the bowls may not be deep enough.
