Here's my rant...

I still haven't gotten all the sand into this stupid tank and I'm more than frustrated with it. Between school (full time) and work, I can only do a little bit a day. As I was adding a bit tonight I realized that all the sand underneath has almost dried out and I have no idea what to do. I can't take it all out and mixing it together in the tank is so hard. I have a hard time reaching the sand that's in there even with a small shovel.

And I have nobody to help me!!!

There's gotta be an easier way to mix the sand. It takes me 3-4 mixes and dumps in the tank per bag and by then my arms are tired from stirring the water in.

So frustrated!!!

Here's rant #2. I'm just full of them today!!!

All my crabs are down!! ALL OF THEM!!! I haven't seen a trace of a crab in like 2 weeks. I smoothed the sand out in the tank to look for marks in case they come out at night and nope!

I miss watching those buggers!!

You can mix it in plastic totes and dump it in. Keeping a lid on the tank will help with evaporation so it won't dry as quickly.
#1 rule of crabbing - crabs are weird.
#2 rule of crabbing - see above

Actually as soon as I posted it I thought about totes haha. I switched and I managed to get 2 more bags in. I'll cover the top and hopefully finish it tomorrow after school.

Here it is as it sits now. There's about.... 7 bags in there right now. I chopped up one of my fake house plants so I only have the greenery and put it in the corner. I think they'll like climbing it. I may do the sand really thick on the left side and kind of slope it gently down to the other side. There would still be a good 10 inches of sand on the side with the plant.

Also, I think I'll make that right side of the tank a 'jungle'. I really want to add some crab safe real plants!!

And here it is now. Building the slope. I just need to add a few more bags of sand to the left side to even it out. It's going to slope from 10 inches of sand down to 8 where the plants are. And as you can see, I bought 2 live plants today. They weren't expensive so I don't really care if they get ruined.

Only 8! It's not taking nearly as much as I thought. I still have 7 full bags I bought and it's definitely not going to take that much! I thought I was underguessing with 15.
