It's been slow progress! I'm still painting the mirror. The stars happened to align for me to also convert my aquarium to a planted shrimp and fish tank, so most of my time and resources have been going towards that. But the tank is now stable, and I was hoping to do more painting on the cabinet today!Image

Thats interesting. Is the picture going to be outside of the tank? I worry about any exposure of the paint to the crabs.

I'll be coating everything in epoxy resin from Pro Marine Supplies, so they'll be safe. I have to anyway to protect the cabinet from the humidity.

I also cut the light opening at the top big enough to fit my uv light fixture (my crabs haven't previously had uvb, but it seems like the prevailing opinion is that if you can, you might as well, so I am) using a jigsaw. And I've cut out the wire grate to nail over the hole so that my crabbies don't try to cook themselves by sitting on the bulb.

Today, I'm looking to sand the hole smooth, paint the grate just to make it look nicer, then do a resin pour on the painted side of the cabinet, and coat the painted grate in resin. Hopefully more pictures to come soon!ImageImage
