my humidity did the same thing for the first few months, until the substrate dried a little, now the humidity fluctuates between 85ish and 75ish depending on whether or not the lights are on.
Don't forget to post pics of the finished product!

Okay okay :P

I have had it finished to this point for like.. 2 or 3 weeks. I'm debating if I should add stuff over the water, like second levels, or a net "hammock" filled with moss (I was thinking that would mold though)

Alright, so here you go!

Pinky didn't get any of the krill :(

Poor lil guy :P

Some shells I put underwater, hoping to see an underwater shell change :D

A couple crabs discussing the changes:

Okay, so Hopefully that will stave off your pic cravings for a while ;)

Give me any ideas you may have for over-the-water.. things.. lol

I think it looks good, the shells in the water is a neat idea, but personally I think it's just going to make the poor crabs drag the shells out lol

FISH!!!!!!!!!

hee hee hee. Against my better judgement, I went and got 6 fishes. 3 tetras, and 3.. well I'm not sure, but they're small, and good with tetras :P

They're really fast, so it was hard to get a good shot of them

Here's the tetras in the bag before I opened it...

Here's a bunch of them all grouped together..

You can kinda see one of the smaller fish here; They're small, and their backs are black, forming almost a triangle if you look at them from the side:

And a better side view of them; middle of the pic, on the right:

I found my PetCo receipt :D

The larger fish are Buenos Aires Tetras
The smaller fish are Harlequin Rasporas

I hope they make it. This morning one of the tetras was "sleeping" between the heater and the glass, and another was between the filter and the gravel. The third Tetra and the Rasporas were just kinda floating around together in a school, lol.. Cute :)

I was thinking that the crabs would be going down into the water all the time, but the most I have seen any actualy down underwater is maybe 1-3 times a week, most of the time they just sit on the edge and drink. So I tested the pH and Amonia levels, and they have been staying pretty constant; neutral and the amonia levels have been in the "acceptable range"

The only thing is that the girl says I should still cycle the water like once a week, but not a full cycle, just like 1/5 of the water. I guess that shouldn't be too big of a deal, especially considering it's only like.. 4-5 gallons of water :P

Your tank is coming together nicely. :) Let us know how it works out with the fish living in there... one day you might find a crab sitting on the waters edge eating one.

Just a stupid question: won't the crabs drown in the water? Or if they won't, what if they get stuck?

Crabs will only drown if they stay underwater for like 15+ hours.. They begin their life underwater, so it's not like they aren't acustomed to it..

And they can't get stuck, there are plenty of shell paths for them to climb out..

And some mealworms, which I wont post pics of, 'cause.. some people can't handle live insects (my girlfriend, lol)

So now I have Crabs, Fishies, and Anoles, oh my!
