Removal ramp system for crab pools

Post by Sweetp » Thu Oct 09, 2014 5:52 am

Hi all
It is so great to see more members looking into creating larger saltwater pools for their crab families.
Below are some photo's of my saltwater pool and ramp system. I hope this information answers the questions I have received
I made my ramps removable to assist me in cleaning the pool.
i use a turkey baster to lightly stir up the top layer on the floor each week. I scoop up any large pieces of waste and the protein skimmer removes anything left.

Image underside of ramp showing flat rock attached with cable ties (counterweight - holds ramp in place)

Kind regards

You are awesome. I am making my list of stuff to buy to make my saltwater pool awesome. I am focusing on the water itself right now. I am getting the right substrate that you told me about and the water testing kit. I just need to know what skimmer and heater to get for a 2.5. Please help. You are the expert and I want to do it right. Next, this ramp is on my to do list.
#1 rule of crabbing - crabs are weird.
