Cholla wood from my backyard?

Post by Candie » Sun Mar 06, 2016 1:45 pm

I recently discovered I have cholla wood in my backyard laying around the Cactus it came from, what I'm wondering is, is it safe to use for my hermit crabs. I know about pesticides and we do spray but haven't since last summer and it has rained alot since and just rained this morning along with our sprinklers near by it.

Hmm. This is a tough one. It might be best to find a pure source for cholla. That being said, I might risk it because the cost of cholla is not cheap and it is soooo much fun as a climber!

If you decide to use it, be sure to boil the heck out of it to kill off any spider eggs or mold spores, etc.
