What sea salt and dechlorinator do you use?

Post by The Franckinator » Wed Apr 20, 2016 7:34 am

I would just like to create a topic where different users list the types of sea salts and de-chlorinators they prefer to use and have noticed to be beneficial. I know there is a FAQ page listing the safe ones, but I would still feel more comfortable if all of you would list all of the brands and lines that you've tried and trust the most. Thank you! :P

It is on the list and I believe it does. I have used for years for my water turtles.

Also, how many drops (or tsps or cups or whatever) of dechlorinator go into 1 gallon of water? I can't find an official article stating this and my new dechlorinator advises to "add 5 mL (1 tsp) per 10 gallons of water." It's Aqueon Water Conditioner if that changes anything

It doesn't say on the back? Most bottles will have an amount for one gallon, ten gallon, and fifty gallon

Seachem Prime is 2-5 drops per gallon, depending on your tap water really. Some people prefer to use a couple of more drops if their city water supply is more heavily treated.

I have used Prime and Instant Ocean for a couple of years now.

Prime and at the moment Instant Ocean. I've used Oceanic and Kent and IO Reef Crystals as well, whatever is on sale.
