Computer fan DIY?

I've been researching online what to do about all the condensation in my tank. I already have a 5in fan in it (20 gallon). Because I don't have much space to work with, I was thinking of trying a computer fan. Has anyone tried this? If so, what do you do with the temperature probe on the fan? How do you disable it? I want to hook it up to an AC/DC adaptor then to a dimmer and timer. Any advice??
