Can't remember the name of a product

I can't remember what they are called but I have seen other crabbers using them in the past in place of suction cups. They are plastic and I believe maybe t- shaped and go around the top of the tank. They are used to hang things like vines and nets. Also I'm going to hobby lobby what kind of vines and long hangable plants should I look at? Silk plants or plastic? Thanks!

Corner guards are pieces of acrylic sold at hardware stores that crabbers usually drill holes in to put zip ties through for hanging objects in the crabitat.

*helpful tip*

You can search keywords in the forum and subforums. Go to DIY and look up corner guards. You should see some pics or threads in which people installed them and photographed the process.

I searched but did not find instructions on how to install the corner guards.

Ok. So I'm still fairly new to Tapatalk and not sure how to copy links from one person's post to another's Image Here's what I did. After purchasing the corner guards from Home Depot, I measured with the corner guards next to my tank and marked off with a regular pair of sharp scissors where I needed to cut. I wanted corner guards installed on both sides and back of the tank (inside of tat of course). Then with those same scissors I cut the corner guards. So now I have three strips from the one long strip I started with. Next, i took a drill and drilled holes about 1 inch apart all the way down each corner guard - these are where I would use zip ties to hang on to whatever I wanted to put up. Next I used this aquarium safe DAP which was recommended by another HCA member :

And applied it to the back of the corner guards and pressed firmly onto the tank glass wherever I wanted the guards placed. Once I had it where I wanted it, I used blue painters tape that I already had available to hold it all in place. I left everything like this for almost a week in my garage because of the smell from the silicone glue - once all the smell is gone, it is safe to start building the rest of the tat. It is NOT recommended that u do this while hermies are already in the tat because of the toxicity of the silicone glue. Hope that helps u!!!

I don't use corner guards, but I use command strips. I use the kind that have a Velcro like feature to them, and they work for me. I use the 16 lb ones. Lol
