Building a Crabby Paradise

So a little while back just a few months after I'd purchased my original four crabs I adopted a large bunch of crabs. 12 to be exact and so far they've been living together in a 50 gallon. My original rookie build has been posted. My little two story crab shack. I've consistently had troubles keeping up with humidity and temps somewhat. Of course winter didn't help with that. I wrapped all the tanks with aluminum foil covered cardboard and blanketed that. Installed bubblers in both and things improved.
Fast forward to now... I'm dreaming big! I'd like to turn my whole book case into a tall crabby paradise. Over a foot of substrate, a waterfall, living plants, lots of hides and shelves and branches. I'd like all who are interested to join me in my build. Pointers, critiques, crabby support
I've been saving some money and Christmas might have come late, but it arrived today!

Awesome!! Bubblers are great for a humidity boost.

Aquarium section of a pet store... you need a small airpump, airstones, an some plastic airline tube. Affix the airstones to the plastic to the pump, put stones in pool, and - voila! Bubblers. They're noisy at first, but you an the crabs get used to them.

Instead of buying a small air pump, you can buy a dual one; which is a little larger, but has two outputs for two lines

Not to dampen spirits, but can a bookshelf support over 1 foot of sand? Some bookshelves that manufactured today, you have to question its structural integerty. If its one of those "solid oak" or a hardwood, then it might be a bit more capable!
(But loads of eproxy! You will need it!)

I got the pump etc then I put my air stone and hose down into a small glass jar full of treated water. Neck of the bottle or jar must be smaller than the crabs but when full it lasts forever. Keeps me from having to replace their water dishes so often.

Ah yes. It could be iffy but this case is hardcore. About an inch and a half thick solid wood. It's even bolted to the wall.
I do need to beef up the small tab supports at each end but I plan on using screws to anchor everything into place.

You can also use a splitter that will divide one air line into two using extra air hose.

This is very true, however I personally have found the splitters don't produce the bubbles to my satisfaction, but to each' s own
