I saw someone make them out of spray foam, but not sure if that's crab safe.
How can I make some really cool ledges for my 55 gallon?

Realistic ledges would have to be made before you put crabs in, or you can buy magnetic ones.
Edit: the reason being is because the glued to adhere the ledges to the tank would be toxic to the crabs

Yep, I understand what you are saying.
Where can I buy magnetic ones?
There's a member on here that had a 55, and she had an amazing set of ledges in the back. I might have to try.
Here's the one I am meaning.

My dad was going to make me a shelf for each end in my 55.
I was wondering if I could have him do that, and maybe I could cover that in foam and cement for the texture?

I've made similar using styrofoam and covered with multiple layers of cement and covered with sand... the crabs loved hanging out on it, until I stepped on it and broke it.

Yes, the magnatural products are awesome! I was hoping to purchase some at the reptile show I went to a couple of months ago, but there weren't any :/

Magnaturals have gone up in price, so they aren't as common in stores as they used to be. You'd be better off ordering directly from the company, although I think Pangea still sells them? The strong magnets they use contain rare earth metals so they cost more, but they are super strong.

I really don't feel like spending money on my tank, as I already have invested over $300 to get this 55 actually started up.
My mind changes so often, it's just by what I see in photos.
My newest plan was using a safe wood, and putting it in the tank to act as a shelf.
I will then either cut a hole for a kritter keeper to fit into, or lay it on top. Which one would you advise as better?
I just don't want too little of room on each end for me to maintenance the water pools.
