For those of you with ledges and second levels in your tank, what do you have up there? I'm considering a corner shelf in my 80 upgrade for their food and calcium dishes, but I'm wondering if they'll find it? I'm sure in the wild their food isn't always on the bottom level in a nice bowl... so it should be okay right? Lol

That was my question when I put their food on the 2nd level. But they found their food. I just had to make sure they could back up and get away if another crab is scooting them away.

Good point, I'll make sure there's plenty of room.

I have the most amateur second level - it's a plastic container turned upside down, with a hole cut so they could use it as a hide. I glued shells to the sides so they can climb up and down, and a soap caddy on the top so it has small 'sides' on it. There is nothing up there, but they seem to love it and spend a LOT of time up there hanging out together.

That’s not amateur, that sounds awesome!

I had done that before. I zip tied burlap to the top so they would have traction.

i have a hammock, and they poop all over it! salsa prefers the double decker log, though.
