DIY Aquarium?

So after some discussion my dad and I had the thought of making our own custom aquarium for the hermit crabs. He has lots of glass panels from a project he didn't finish and we're currently in the process of drawing up some designs. My question is, what kind of sealant would be safe to use, to attach the glass panels together?

Both answers are good options. You want a sealant that contains no mould inhibitors, and usually it's a good idea that it says somewhere on the packaging that its aquarium safe.

Awesome. I'll get right on that. I've been playing around with the dimensions I want, and I want to know what you guys think. I'm making this based on the amounts of substrate needed for the crab sizes in this list.

I'm thinking 30" long, 24" high, and 16" wide. Any suggestions for size?

Because they grow and having hermit crabs is addicting, bigger is always better if you can do it.
