I'm sure somebody has asked this question before, but can reptile vines be used in crabitats? Are they toxic, do they grow mold easily, etc.?

Crabbers do use them and they don't seem to be toxic. They will grow mold though! I've had good luck by keeping them off the substrate.

And dont do what I did, by using it as a way to get in/out of the SW pool. After a couple of weeks, basically the whole thing had rusted and had to be thrown out!

Has anyone tried to make their own? Wondering if wire coated in liquid rubber would work. Open to other suggestions.

I used them in my first crabitat, but I hated how they shed little black junk everywhere, so eventually I took them out and used other things for climbing apparatus.

I've heard of people using rope, smothering it with silicone and rolling it in dried EE. Seems to work well, but dunno about long term as no one has ever reported how they hold up after a couple of months.
