Found mesh

Post by Hermielover121 » Sun May 03, 2020 12:06 pm

For my s and f water pools I need mesh for the sides. Apparently it is called plastic canvas! I could not find any that was big enough but then I found leaf it gutter guard ( it’s plastic) you can find it in big quantities at Home Depot for only 9 dollars. Just thought I would mention that for anyone who needs mesh for there tanks since it’s really hard to find!!!

If you're ever in need of craft mesh, check out a craft store or Walmart. I got about 20 sheets before AC Moore went out of business. Image
Is the gutter guard you got flexible?

I saw some at the craft stores but all the holes were to small so that’s why I did not get it from there

It does look small, but it seems to work ok for the crabbies. I think that's what most people on here use (that's what I use for my pools). I have egg crate on the back of my tank for them to climb, which the holes are much bigger, but it's not flexible.

Ohhh I totally forgot about egg crate I could probably have used that too but I already paid. Do you think the stuff that I picked would be as good?

That's ok. Egg crate isn't flexible at all, and you have to use a sharp instrument to cut it. So I wouldn't recommend it for pools. Do you have a link to the stuff you bought? I'm just wondering if it will be a pain to cut down to size.

I think it will work. It looks bendy enough in the pic where it's in the gutters. Def let me know how it works out when you pick it up!

That gutter guard appears to be similar to the plastic canvas, only bigger. I have see a few people use it instead. I would still rinse it off in your dechlorinated freshwater first to be safe.
