Climbing wall, diy?
I bought one of those lizard hammocks from walmart and I figured I could put it against the wall that way it serves as a climbing wall (super excited for that) just wanted to share that idea with everyone, maybe you guys have done this already but....now i'm doing it hehehe
Should I boil it before I use it, or just rinse it off? It has plastic bits so i'm worried about boiling or baking it.

I would rinse it just to be safe! What's it made out of? This sounds like such a good idea!sunflower_crabitat wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 6:19 pmI bought one of those lizard hammocks from walmart and I figured I could put it against the wall that way it serves as a climbing wall (super excited for that) just wanted to share that idea with everyone, maybe you guys have done this already but....now i'm doing it hehehe

Just make sure that the wall isn't in a way where they could get out (I have a glass lid with a plastic piece that can easily be lifted up), because trust me, I made that mistake, and Frog got to free roam the house by himself for 9 days!

Not sure, but I'm worried rinsing it will cause it to mold.

If rinsing it causes mold, it will probably mold in the crabitat. I would rinse it and then let it sun dry before putting it in the tank, but that's just my opinion!sunflower_crabitat wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 11:45 am

Lots of things are prone to mold in the heat and humidity of our tanks. If this is made from a fiber (ie- it's not plastic), you can soak it in salt water (you can use cooking salt, you don't need to use your Instant Ocean for this) for a bit, then let it dry completely before putting it in the tank in order to decrease the chances of mold.
