I got it for my PPs. It is blue. Is it safe? I hope it is. Will they eat it? It looks like cholla wood.

It's cholla wood... I've seen those too. The coloring makes me nervous as they tend to eat cholla wood.
Dunno if the paint/dye is non-toxic or anything though.

I was thinking the same. It is just that they look like they know what they are doing.

Is it plastic?

It's not real cholla wood...I think it's made of resin or something. I have two in my tank that are a brown color, so they look pretty real. My crabs absolutely love to climb all over them, and since it isn't real wood, I don't have to worry about mold. I've never seen my crabs try to eat it.

I have a pink one in my tank, and they leave it alone. The only reason I put it in there, was that it was given to me as a gift. I have yet to see anyone on it.

Wow! They MUST make it look realistic if it's not really cholla wood.
Wild... hehe... if it's resin or "plastic" it's prolly okay then.

Another way to check it I guess is to cut it a little and look inside. If It all blue then it is fake and I don't have to worry. If there is real wood then I could be worried. Doesn't matter though. I think it is safe.

To see if it's wood you could always scrape a bit off with a knife and then burn it. If it smells chemical it's fake and if where you scrape off shows a natural color you know it was wood that was dyed.
